Hi, friends! Today I'm looking forward to sharing my journey with SNS dip powder. It's such a hot topic in the beauty community right now, and I wanted to provide an honest perspective if any of you are considering it. To put it simply, it's awesome! My experience with SNS started in late summer. I had (stupidly) decided to go back to acrylics in July to see how I liked them for our wedding. My thought was that I'd have a year for my nails to get back on track if I hated them, because, to be frank, acrylics are terrible for your nails. Please know that I'm not trying to be judgmental in any way - I was an avid acrylics-wearer for years. I unfortunately learned the hard way the level of damage they can cause. My last experience was no different, but in an effort to look at the glass half-full, I did discover SNS because of it.

After two months of hating the acrylics, I was at a complete loss. I knew my natural nails never grew with regular manicures or gel, but I wanted beautiful nails for all the upcoming wedding festivities. Enter Emily Gemma of The Sweetest Thing, who thankfully was chatting about her "dip powder" experience on Snapchat or Instastories (I can't remember but I personally prefer Instastories, so be sure to follow along @RightToRemainFab). She's one of my absolute favorite bloggers, and I trust her judgment, so I was eager to get my acrylics soaked off and give it a try. For those of you are completely new to SNS, it's powder gel that requires no UV or LED light to cure. The process is as straightforward as it's name, they dip your nail into the powder about 2-3 times and wa-la! My favorite thing about SNS though is that, unlike traditional gel, it's packed with nutrients. There are really no words to describe how grateful I am to have found this technique because my nails have never been longer or healthier. It's like miracle!

Here's the summary of SNS:
- No UV or LED exposure
- No dry time
- Shiny finish that lasts
- Depending on personal nail growth, can last up to 4 weeks
- Natural nail appears clean, polished and, with thicker application, just like acrylics (but way less bulky!)
- Around $45+ in NYC and Philadelphia
- Safe & healthy
- Wide-range of colors (numerical system)
- Takes about an hour to complete
If you had any doubts, I hope my feedback has given you the push to test it for yourself. Let me know if you're an SNS gal like myself, and if so, what are your favorite colors? I'm partial to the nude collection but couldn't help myself with all the fun reads this holiday season. Also, if you're in the Philly suburbs, I go to Harvest Moon Nail Bar in Lafayette Hill. You won't be disappointed!

Stay fab,
Lauren
