#ReadyToBeRivera: A Wedding Update

As of this post's draft date, we are 322 days out from our wedding day! It's hard to believe we've passed the one-year mark. Today, I wanted to share a quick update on the vendors we've booked thus far, and what we're still working on...

Ceremony & Reception // Villanova Church & Philadelphia Country Club - We're getting married at my law school alma mater, Villanova. The church is absolutely stunning, and we loved everything about it from the first day we walked in. Now that we've permanently relocated, it's our official parish as well. After our "I-dos", we'll be partying it up at the Philadelphia Country Club (even the name sounds chic!). We're just as obsessed with the venue, and thanks to Groomy (a/k/a Will), it was the first thing we booked.

Photographer // Sarah DiCicco - She's phenomenal...there are really no other words so check her out here! P.S. New engagement photos will be coming to a feed near you soon, thanks to her :)

Videographer // CinemaCake - Our photographer recommended them to us, and the quality and attention to detail is unmatched. Some people skip the video, and I get it can be an extra cost, but we felt you have nothing left but film and photos after this special day. We just couldn't do without it!

Florist // Carl Alan Floral Designs - If you are in the Philadelphia area and are looking for florals, you must go see Vito. He's a native New Yorker with a flare for the fabulous. He spoke my language from day one.

Hotel Blocks // Still working on securing the final blocks. Most of our guests will be coming from the New York Metro area. The ride is only about 1.5 hours on the NJ/PA turnpike, and the wedding is on a summer Saturday, so our guests don't have to stay overnight; however, we want to make sure everyone has that option.

Favors // I'm all about practicality when it comes to favors, so we made sure to get something guests will enjoy for years to come. Stay tuned...especially if you're invited, I don't want to spoil the surprise!

Wedding Dress // Eve of Milady - It took me MONTHS to find the right dress! For the love of all things holy, a classic look in today's day and age is difficult to come by. All I wanted was a fitted dress that felt special without looking crazy trendy. Needless to say, it was like finding a need in a haystack. If you're a bride in the NYC area, I highly recommend Bridal Reflections in Manhattan. They are the best!!

Groom's Tuxedo & Groomsmen // Navy - Groomy is all about blue! Trying to find the perfect navy tux has been challenging but I think we decided on this one from Joseph Abboud. The groomsmen will also be in the same tux with accessories to differentiate. Those details have yet to be decided.

Plan every detail of your wedding look ahead of time so when the day comes, it shows. Formalwear by Joseph Abboud available at Men's Wearhouse. Get $30 off each rental when you register today.

Bridal Party Attire // Blush - My lovely maids will be in a gorgeous beaded gown from BHLDN. Great experience thus far, but do be sure to go see the dresses in person and have your party measured before ordering.

DJ // EBE Entertainment - We are DJ people, and had no interest in a band. Now, that's not to say anything negative against them...it's just our preference. There was no doubt that would be our route, and it saved us a ton. We will, however, have some live entertainment...again, stay tuned!

Transportation // We're still working through the details, but plan on booking a trolley for the bridal party and a vintage car for us. The trolley would also serve as transportation for the hotel that doesn't offer shuttle service, which is a big consideration.

Invitations // Still pending, but we plan on making a selection in September.

Cake // Poor Groomy was been cursed with a severe nut allergy, so the cake selection presented a bit of an issue. Our good 'ole NY crew came through, and the cake lady we've used in years past will be crafting our cake. Be sure to follow my pinterest to see my ideas in real time.

The images you see are merely inspiration and do not reflect our final wedding decisions - nothing will be shown until after the wedding! Sorry, I don't plan on spoiling any of the surprises, but I will say, our colors are all white everything with a hint of blush/gold :)
